Movie Review: Ram Leela

Sanjay Leela Bansali delivers yet another classic and colorful treat for all of us Bollywood lovers! Combining the royalty and glamour of Devdas and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Ram Leela has truly surpassed all of our expectations. I am in complete awe and cannot stop thinking about the film. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh present their best performances till date; and their penetrating chemistry left me breathless and envying the love they had for one another. It’s truly wonderful to see how much Deepika has grown and developed into this amazing actress. As for Ranveer Singh, I really did not want to like him but shit I do. He is a complete charmer and after seeing his hysterical dance routine to “Tattad tattad,” his NICE body, and how well he handles his emotional scenes … what’s a girl not to like?! Lootere and now Ram Leela, Ranbir Kapoor better grab a hold of his socks…looks like Bollywood has a new “Ladies Man”

All of the supporting cast were phenomenal in their roles as well, my favorites were Leela’s terrifying mother: Supriya Pathak, Leela’s bhabi: Richa Chadda and Ram’s bhabi: Barkha Bisht. On an end note, of course I was in full concentration as to what the stunning Leela was wearing … no need to elaborate on how beautiful she looked; we all know Deepika is a babe. My favorite outfit, which is probably going to be “the iconic” Bollywood inspired outfit for bridal/evening wear was the red and white layered Lehenga she wore in “Lahu Munh Lag Gaya”. Jaipur’s finest inspired, Amrapali Jewelry and Anju Modi’s embroidery come into collaboration to help create this perfect, traditional Sanjay Leela Bansali production.
