Better late than never! … Last week was super chaotic for me, however, I made sure to watch the 59th Filmfare Awards and Grammy’s on Sunday. Just a quick round up of Filmfare this year, I thought it was quite enjoyable! My two favorites, Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra hosted; which I was stoked about weeks in advance. Ranbir is a phenomenal host and Priyanka was decent as she was able to feed off of Ranbir and both of them enthused a rather interesting futuristic concept to an awards ceremony through wardrobe and on-stage skits. Hands down, my two favorite performances were Madhuri Dixit’s and Shahid Kapoor’s. Madhuri of course danced her heart away for what she is known – classic and traditional Bollywood whereas, Shahid delivered an energy packed performance remixing Michael Jackson’s beats and some of MJ’s signature moves. As for awards, Bhaag Milka Bhaag took home numerous ladies dressed in black … much well deserved! Aashiqui 2 got its acknowledgement for its music and Deepika Padukone and Farhan Akthar walked away with the big win for best actor and actress, surprise surprise! 😉 Now, for best dressed…here are my top 3 favorites:
1. Priyanka Chopra in Alexander Mcqueen
Ok this is definitely not a bias opinion… quite frankly as much as I adore Peecee, I truly feel that she is a hit or miss with her choice in wardrobe, styling, Fashion in general. However, I absolutely loved her look for Filmfare! When it comes to the red carpet glam, you can never go wrong with the classic black and gold combination … in this case what Priyanka has done with a glamorous oomph. The sequence gold peplum on the gown is the perfect touch and really screams Alexander Mcqueen. Love her side swept hairstyle, the one earring that she wore instead of the two and how she kept her arms and neckline completely bare to really accentuate that glam peplum.
2. Neha Dupia in Payal Singhal skirt and Anju Modi blouse
Another classic black and gold style on the red carpet! Now this woman has impeccable styling … not at all noticed for her talent as an actress, although has left an imprint in the world of Bollywood for exceptional Fashion. She always dresses to impress and I personally love her very sophisticated take on a maxi skirt and crop top look. Her look here and at the TOIFA red carpet are exceptional examples of this well groomed style. What I like most about this look is her play on necklaces … interesting to see how she pairs a statement piece with a longer, dainty, yet noticeable necklace. The only thing I would add to this look is maybe a pop of color on the lips.
3. Karishma Kapoor in Anamika Khanna Couture
Aside from the cakey make-up, Karishma Kapoor looked ah-maze-ing! This look is completely not my style but any woman would appreciate the most obvious factor; the embroidery work and attention to detail – mix of metallic, beiges, black, lace, etc. LOVE how she completed the look by pulling her hair back in a sleek style and carried a matching clutch.
Hope you all enjoyed the read! Goodnight Xo.
