2 weeks in … 2 more weeks to go… Boy oh boy is this no shopping challenge eating me ALIVE!! I know you all might be thinking that holy jeez this girl has some serious shopping addiction. Well … first of all I work at BCBG Maxazria doing part-time sales and visual merchandising AND my discount is pretty fantastic AND within the last two week we received the CUTEST dresses, accessories, outerwear, cardigan’s for the holidays/fall. Oh and guess what … I CAN’T SHOP! But, hey if I have gotten through two weeks … I can get through another two weeks. The real challenge is going to be Black Friday, I can’t even begin to think the horror my friends are going to have to put up with for that week… oh and FYI last week I froze my credit card in a glass of water and its sitting in the freezer at this very moment ha-ha!! Yeah call me crazy … On the bright hand side it is FRIDAY and my looks for this week consisted of a color-blocking theme. Here are my looks for Week 2:
A spunky and fun play on the classic white tank top and dark navy denim – I love color-blocking burgundy and blue … the colors speak for itself therefore I kept it fairly clean with a chunky burgundy scarf, my navy cropped blazer and my cute cut-out burgundy booties. Accessories – complementary bracelet to my watch, bangles on the opposite arm and small drop earrings.
Days I don’t have time to do my hair I wear my head wrap.., with this look I color coordinated grey’s and navy’s through my midi printed dress with a chambray shirt, leaving a few of the buttons open and tying a knot. Finishing touches – black booties to accent some of the black abstract on my dress, a statement necklace under the collars and a red lip.
This is the first time I ever wore my hair in a bun. Thoughts? Ugggh and I am wearing leather panel leggings but sometimes the sun chooses to be my worst enemy and completely ruin my pictures =| Moving along… I started this look with just a chambray shirt and navy pumps and looked in the mirror and said “MEH” .. So I incorporated this purple blazer, added some spunk through a print scarf and a handful of bangles … very fashion editor of me, don’t cha think?!
This was a fun look to put together … I synchronized majority of my outfit pieces in burgundy’s and blacks, a classic black and white printed houndstooth skirt, that I wore backwards to emphasize the zipper detailing and added in a contrasting pop of cobalt blue with my coat. I kept my hair tamed and clean with a ‘Snooki’ inspired poof and pony tail. Finishing pretty girl touches – drop earrings and a prominent burgundy lip.
I refer to this look as the ‘Three C’s’ – Comfy. Cozy. Casual. Starting with my casuals I coordinated with navy’s and greys through a chambray shirt, graphic tee and jeans. To transform it into a fall look I added beige and cognac highlights with my little fur vest and booties. Finishing touches – Rihanna’s Viva Glam 2 lip stick, my grey speckled beanie and a statement necklace tucked under my denim collar.
Just another day Mr. Sun decided to hate me and ensure that my hat does NOT turn out burgundy in my pictures… point to be noted – my hat is burgundy which I color coordinated to my socks. I paired leather on leather – jacket and skirt. To completely personalize my outfit I wore a printed animal tee and studded belt with different metals under the skirts hemline. Accessories – feminine drop earrings, spiked bracelet complementary to my watch and bangles on the opposite hand.
That is a wrap! =) My challenge for next week is to incorporate my chambray shirt into just one of my looks and substitute the pieces that I have worn only once or not even at all for the pieces that I have worn a few times now. I am not going to lie … restricting myself to just 30 pieces of clothing from my closet is difficult beyond words as I love having countless options to choose from – especially shoes. Hence, it is definitely allowing me to be as creative as possible and have fun with my looks everyday. My favorite outfits from this week are Day 8 and Day 11… I love the beautiful appeal of maroon’s and bold blues together. Which is your favorite?!?! Leave me a line below and hope y’all have a kick ass weekend! Xo.
