It is no bolt from the blue when I say that a good chunk of my personal style is reflected on eccentric colors and extravagant prints. Both of these elements add interest to my style, allow me to experiment, and aid in embracing confidence with my overall self expression. Although, just this year, I geared away from my conventional routes by beginning to mix in prints with neutral color palettes – white, black, beige, navy blue and dark browns. All thanks to my current position at BCBG Maxazria and its brands lifestyle of extremely streamline, sharp and crisp fashion; I learnt that there is something so ridiculously alluring, sexy and empowering when prints are incorporated into a classic white and/or black ensemble. Please welcome and allow to step in, my current, fabulous designer obsession – ‘The Maestro’ collection by SVA Couture.
I first discovered the designers, Sonam and Paras Modi behind the miraculous brand in 2013, I fell in love with their form of art when I saw their showcase at Lakme Fashion Week’s AW2014 shows … BUT this October was when my jaw dropped 10 inches to the floor as I came across Nargis Fakhri wearing an original SVA Couture printed ‘Maestro’ saree to a launch event for watches. She looked stunning beyond words – hair, makeup, jewelry; Nargis hit the nail right on the head! The saree was of course absolutely divine and the highlight of her outfit for the evening. Instantly, I was drawn to the consistent, intricate geometric print and the pairing of the ‘Maestro’ print on a black and white contrasted saree – it was chic, sophisticated, contemporary and fit for those women who are not such muses to ethnic wear and of course all of us desi girls as well!
Not only does the collection have an extensive range of product for the style-savvy men and women such as trouser pants, blazers, jackets at various lengths, sexy choli’s, ethnic yet modern dresses, lehenga’s, tunics and much more; it also does transition from the neutrals into beautiful bold and regal colors for the adventurous fashionista within us. In spite of this, what’s really remarkable and a factor that I most definitely appreciate about the ‘The Maestro’ is the integration of this geometric pattern/print which isn’t just available in one signature style. YES. ‘The Maestro’ comes in a few different print modes to choose from AND for all of us daring diva’s who fancy a little something outside the box, we have the options to mix and match a combination of the two signature prints into one outfit pairing and showing off what an outstanding print on print ensemble should really look like. Wow. I need a piece in my life …. PRONTO. Here are a few of my absolute favorite pieces from the collection! Christmas is less than 10 days away … I have already gifted myself with a little “Disney” somethin’ somethin’ Any takers on wanting to get me a fabulous ‘Maestro’ piece?!! I would love you forever, thanks! 🙂 What’s on your Christmas wish list?
