So for those of you that follow me on Instagram http://instagram.com/sonamnaidu/ are well aware that I took a spontaneous trip to Las Vegas for 24 hours this past Sunday! 24 hours? Well, my best friend and I are ridiculous as hell, we have not hung out in forever and we make fairly irrational but awesome decisions. Pretty dangerous bff duo eh?
Of course I had the time of my life and of course my withdrawals are taking the life of me to the point where I sat on my bed in the dark two nights ago for about 30 minutes – the dark scares the living be-jesus out of me! I figured I’ll dwell on my agony and ease myself back into some sort of work by sharing a 24 hour survival/how to make the most of your trip guide to Vegas; alongside some of the pictures from my down-right wicked mini getaway:
– TAKE A NO BS FRIEND –
It’s called Sin City for a reason and those that go to Vegas to ‘relax’ are to be slapped silly. I go to Vegas to party and its mandatory that the person I am going with is on the exact same page as me. My best friend and I feed off of one another and share identical Vegas ‘morals’ …ha-ha sounds absolutely pathetic.
– UNDERSTAND THE VALUE OF FIJI WATER –
Ladies if you magically receive a bottle of Fiji water at the club that you did not have to purchase yourself; grab on tight as if your life depended on it. At every club a bottle of water can cost between $10-$15, bar-tenders are not permitted to give a glass of water and there are no water fountains. Once you have that bottle of water and if you are sitting in a VIP booth; be smart and pace yourself. PS – My skirt was $7 and I’m pretty proud of myself.
– GET IN TOUCH WITH THE BEST PROMOTERS –
It’s quite simple. You want to have a kick-ass time then be in contact with the best, do some back research on social media/google and continue to conversate with your promoter(s) prior to your night out, while you are at the club and even after. Some of them are actually really cute too and have contagious personalities =)
– CHOOSE A CENTRAL HOTEL ON THE STRIP –
Aside from all the phenomenal things to do in Vegas, one of my favorite attractions of the city is walking the strip. If you want to experience Vegas the way it should be experienced – I would highly recommend staying at 4-5 star hotel of choice that is central on the strip to restaurants, shopping centers, other amazing attractions and majority of the other hotel resorts. This also minimizes the unnecessary added expense of cab rides. We stayed at Treasure Island for this trip and it was a gorgeous hotel with the comfiest bed I have ever slept on since my existance!
– BE COST EFFICIENT WITH YOUR LIQUOR –
…Considering you can drink absolutely anywhere! Treat yourself to a Fat Tuesday or some other frozen bar liquor joint – we tried Senor Frogs in Treasure Island for the first time and we were absolutely thrilled with both flavours AND it cost us $30 for both. If you are wanting hard liquor for your room – Walgreens is the place to be! We picked up an average size bottle of Pinnacle peace vodka for $15! Also, picking up booze off the strip is significantly cheaper than on the strip – which we didn’t need to do this time around but its great reference for future Vegas trips. Overall, alcohol is so much cheaper in the States than Canada but with all the other attractions and phenomenal places to eat in Vegas it’s important to be cost efficient yet experimental with the variety available.
Have you ever been to Las Vegas? If so, what are your favorite things to do there? Where have you partied and what would you add to your personal survival guide? Let me know your thoughts …
PS – I may be going back for my birthday which is in one month and I can barely contain how giddy I am at this very moment. Keep posted for my Cyrus lipstick review from Miley Cyrus’ new Viva Glam line for MAC Cosmetics in the next few days.
