Two years ago, I stumbled upon a Youtube video that had me in complete splits and I spent the next several hours watching each and every single video of this hysterical and absolutely ridiculous girl that was babbling on and on about the most random subjects. Aside from her uber cool graphic tee’s and the fact that she was an highly amusing entertainer, I was drawn to something more – this contagious spirit, vivacious sense of humor and positive energy. At that point in my life, I was lacking all of the above; thus as she documented her Youtube journey, I followed through every Monday’s and Thursday’s in hopes to be inspired, keep it real and continue to pursue with whatever my heart willingly wanted to do. Here I am now, two years later following my dreams in full force and watching Lily Singh AKA the infamous iiSuperwomanii – a women of compassion, greatness and creativity every Monday’s and Thursday’s!
Now … it’s going to get personal. For the last few months, I have been completely drained of all the positive vibes in my blood stream due to some mishaps currently taking a toll in my life. iiSuperwomanii’s ‘A trip to Unicorn Island’ in Vancouver last Saturday was definitely my saving grace, much needed reassurance and courage to work really, really hard at whatever it is that tickles my fancy. Obviously the show was down right hilarious with applaud-worthy appearances from Humble the Poet, her “parents” and her clan of unicorns. BUT what really pulled at my heart-strings was her straight from the soul rant and insightful words of wisdom throughout the entire two hour duration of her awesome sauce concert.
She shared many of her emotional personal stories, took us on this amaaazing journey to Unicorn Island – a world surrounded with nothing but positive vibes and induced us with a few imperative reminders; the most important one of all – love yourself. She expressed that at certain points in our lives, we will feel extremely lonely and at that point YOU, yourself – should be your own best friend. No one can make you as happy as yourself, no one understands you the way that you understand yourself and attempting to seek for happiness in factors such as relationships, your personal physique or validations from your parents are completely of no good. Do you, be you and love you for who you are regardless of your body weight, relationship status, placement in society and all those other factors that may seem significant but truthfully are ridiculous in comparison to YOU. She also quoted something note-worthy on dreams but I will share that for my ‘Post a quote challenge’ for next week!
I left the show with ‘the feels’ and after a really long time I was able to sincerely give myself a hug and tell myself that everything is going to be ok. Aside from my papa bear, I wasn’t aware that another super hero existed on this plant. Thank you so much iiSuperwomanii for being you and sprinkling some of your love, humbling words and splitting antics in all of our lives. I long-await the day that I meet this rare breed of a unicorn and the opportunity to pick her brain 🙂 Be sure to catch her documentary of her Unicorn island tour on her Youtube channel this coming FRIDAY!
That. Is. A. Wrap. AND Zoooooooop ❤
