#IBFW2015 | Sonam Kapoor for Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla

Designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla opened up India Bridal Fashion Week – IBFW2015 with an extraordinary bridal collection called “Varanasi” AND they left it in the hands of Sonam Kapoor to completely own it, slay it and set the ramp ablaze as their showstopper! Channeling all shades of her drama, Sonam sauntered down that runway dressed in a stunning couture gown as she lip-synced and choreographed a theatrical opening to a Lana Del Ray “Young and Beautiful” YEAP. She definitely gave the audience ALL the feels.

What was spectacular about this collection was that the showstopper made a beautiful and brilliant secondary entrance – this time in a completely contrasting and traditional embellished lehenga paired with a gorgeous Swarvoski, zardozi blouse. Being fierce as ever in minimal makeup, Sonam swooned the audience AGAIN sashaying down the catwalk this time to Ellie Goulding’s ‘Love me like you do’ Personally, I went banana’s over the first look but the craftsmanship on this lehenga is really a piece of work.

  1. I have a serious weak spot for high detail embroidery on indian fashion and that red lengha does not disappoint! On a side note (just randomly saw it on Instagram and felt like I needed to share it with someone), you probably saw Sonam’s photos of the lilac outfit she was wearing during IBFW and some idiot commented underneath something along the lines of “You look just awful in these clothes I hate you in this”. Out of interest I clicked on the commenter’s instagram page and saw the stereotypical indian wearing cheap knock off clothes and posing in front of cars as if he’s gods gift to women with his poor wife standing by looking like ‘and my parents married me off to this?’. The attitude of asian men constantly frustrates me when they comment on what are quite frankly the most stunning women on earth, as if their opinion matters or even worse as if they think they have ownership over them. Aaargh rant over. I just look at the beautiful things Asian society produces and wonder why some people have to damage it with their stupidity.
